and abilities have been achieved. Job Profile Summary: Directs team
scheduling and maintenance, and monitors compliance and athlete
eligibility for an intercollegiate athletics program to ensure the
effective and efficient operation of the program. Job Description:
Under administrative direction in Sun Devil Athletics, the Special
Assistant to Athletic Administration assists various sport programs
by providing resources, support, and coordination in the overall
planning of various program operations. Ensures compliance with the
rules and regulations of NCAA and Big 12, as well as the policies
and procedures of the University and the Arizona Board of Regents
in all projects. Essential Duties: Coordinate travel for assigned
areas including: pre-travel requests, working with agent to book
travel and complete expense reports in timely manner. Team,
individual and recruit travel. Assist with the coordination of
unofficial and official campus visits by prospective
student-athletes and their families. Assist the respective coaching
staff with the timely completion of business office and NCAA
compliance paperwork. Attend monthly compliance meetings May assist
in scheduling of appointments, creation of correspondence and
providing other administrative support as requested by the coaches
and/or administrators. Collect receipts and reconcile all
purchasing card expenses Assist with reimbursements Assist with
meals incidental to participation (MIPs) Compiles and prepares data
for reports, correspondence and presentations. Serve as liaison
between the assigned areas and related contacts within and outside
of the University community to include coaching staff, student
athletes, SDA staff, alumni, in order to facilitate programs.
Coordinate resources to meet the needs of the assigned area. Create
reports and analyzes data obtained. Develop and updates systems,
manuals, handbooks, and policies and procedures. Ensures compliance
with all applicable rules and regulations. Assist with planning,
develop, and coordinate events related to requirements of the area
of assignment (example, team year end banquets). May provide
training to staff in related area and work with/train student
workers. Require travel with the team. Perform other duties as
assigned. Desired Qualifications: Experience in working with sport
programs such as gymnastics, softball, track and field, and/or
tennis. Experience with Concur. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA, Big
12. Demonstrated knowledge of University administrative policies
and procedures. Evidence of effective communication. Experience
with Teamworks and ARMS Experience in establishing and maintaining
effective working relationships. Experience in creating reports and
analyzing data. Experience in planning, analyzing, and coordinating
activities and establishing priorities. Experience in leading by
example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of
the institution’s sustainability programs Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office
setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and
manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying
lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25
pounds Regular activities require ability to quickly change
priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of
conflicts Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential
functions Regular use of standard office equipment including, but
not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor,
mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated
computer/technology peripherals General supervision received from
Coaching staffs and Senior Associate Athletic Director/SWA.
