The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Elementary School Teacher fosters a dynamic and engaging learning environment integrating interdisciplinary STEM concepts into the curriculum, encouraging students to develop critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university State of Arizona Standard Professional Elementary K-8 teaching certificate Experience working with elementary-aged students in an educational setting Experience working with a variety of hands-on, inquiry-based learning that prepares students for future academic and career success in STEM fields, preferred Proficiency in integrating technology and digital tools into instruction Have knowledge, skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging, student-centered learning environment. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student exploration and skill development in STEM. Implement a STEM-focused curriculum aligned with state and national educational standards. Assist students toward the attainment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation. Deliver interdisciplinary lesson plans that incorporate science, technology, engineering, arts, and math in engaging, age-appropriate ways. Utilize project-based learning (PBL) and inquiry-driven instruction to foster curiosity and exploration. Integrate technology, coding, robotics, and engineering principles into lessons. Use differentiated instruction strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with special needs. Work closely with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance the school's STEM program. Collaborate with other educators to develop cross-curricular connections. Evaluate, conscientiously and fairly, the accomplishments of students and provide progress reports as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation. The teacher systematically gathers, analyzes, and uses relevant data to measure student progress, guide instructional content and delivery methods, and provide timely feedback to students, parents, and stakeholders. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS The Classroom Teacher reports to the site administrator. The Classroom Teacher will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions.
