(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Elementary
School Teacher fosters a dynamic and engaging learning environment
integrating interdisciplinary STEM concepts into the curriculum,
encouraging students to develop critical thinking, creativity,
problem-solving, and collaboration skills. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or
university State of Arizona Standard Professional Elementary K-8
teaching certificate Experience working with elementary-aged
students in an educational setting Experience working with a
variety of hands-on, inquiry-based learning that prepares students
for future academic and career success in STEM fields, preferred
Proficiency in integrating technology and digital tools into
instruction Have knowledge, skill and or experience in the
implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS)
strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to communicate effectively
verbally and in writing Strong classroom management skills and the
ability to create an engaging, student-centered learning
environment. Strong communication, collaboration, and
organizational skills. Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and
problem-solving skills. Ability to work cooperatively and
courteously with staff, students, parents, and community members.
Utilize, with fidelity, the District Positive Behavior Intervention
Support (PBIS) program at the building level. Empathy, patience,
and a genuine passion for working with students. Ability to
understand and maintain students’ and parents’ rights to
confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students
in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create a positive and inclusive
classroom environment that encourages student exploration and skill
development in STEM. Implement a STEM-focused curriculum aligned
with state and national educational standards. Assist students
toward the attainment of their potential for intellectual,
emotional, and psychological growth and maturation. Deliver
interdisciplinary lesson plans that incorporate science,
technology, engineering, arts, and math in engaging,
age-appropriate ways. Utilize project-based learning (PBL) and
inquiry-driven instruction to foster curiosity and exploration.
Integrate technology, coding, robotics, and engineering principles
into lessons. Use differentiated instruction strategies to meet the
needs of diverse learners, including students with special needs.
Work closely with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to
enhance the school's STEM program. Collaborate with other educators
to develop cross-curricular connections. Evaluate, conscientiously
and fairly, the accomplishments of students and provide progress
reports as required by law, District policy, and administrative

Provide an atmosphere, physical and psychological, conducive to
learning. Maintain accurate permanent academic and attendance
records for students. Assist in upholding and enforcing school
rules, administrative regulations, and Governing Board Policy.
Attend and participate in general faculty and department meetings.
Cooperate with other staff members in planning instructional goals,
objectives, and methods. Assist in the selection of books,
equipment, and other instructional equipment, as applicable.
Participate in professional development workshops and training to
stay current on best practices in arts education. PERFORMANCE
STANDARDS The teacher demonstrates an understanding of the
curriculum, subject content, and the developmental needs of
students by providing relevant learning experiences. The teacher
plans using the state’s standards, the school’s curriculum, data,
and engaging and appropriate strategies and resources to meet the
needs of all students. The teacher uses a variety of research-based
instructional strategies relevant to the content area to engage
students in active learning, to promote key skills, and to meet
individual learning needs. The teacher systematically gathers,
analyzes, and uses relevant data to measure student progress, guide
instructional content and delivery methods, and provide timely
feedback to students, parents, and stakeholders. The teacher uses
resources, routines, and procedures to provide a respectful,
positive, safe, student-centered environment that is conducive to
learning. The teacher maintains a commitment to professional
ethics, collaborates and communicates appropriately, and takes
responsibility for personal professional growth that results in the
enhancement of student learning. The work of the teacher results in
acceptable, measurable, and appropriate student progress. PHYSICAL
DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of

classroom environment and ability to work outdoors during outdoor

have contact with students, staff and the public. ORGANIZATIONAL
RELATIONSHIPS The Classroom Teacher reports to the site
administrator. The Classroom Teacher will interact cooperatively
with all other staff positions. All elements of good human
